Calling All Fathers - part 3

Malachi 4:5–6 (NKJV)

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)

3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

In who? In Abraham. Why Abraham? Because he would command his children and his household in the way of the Lord (Genesis 18:19)!

The New Bible Dictionary:

There is no word in the OT which corresponds precisely to modern English ‘family’, as consisting of father, mother and children. The closest approximation is found in the word bayiṯ (‘house’), which, from signifying the group of people, probably came to refer to the dwelling.

What does all this mean? It means that evangelism and revival’s true beginning focal point is the household. It also means that the leader of the revival and evangelism is the father. In order to reach the world, we need to focus on the household and its important leader – the father.

Romans 4:16 (NKJV)

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

More to come!

I call you blessed,

Pastor Jim
